Afternoon Tea
Experience the English classic at this Cornish destination.
Jam first
Or second… we don't mind. All we want is for you to devour our delicious scones, served with clotted cream. We also prepare a range of tasty sandwiches, using local ingredients. Plus our chefs create a range of fresh pastries for you to enjoy.
We regularly change our afternoon tea menu to reflect the seasons and ingredients available. This gives you a great excuse to indulge repeatedly throughout the year.
Traditional or tipsy
Afternoon teas have evolved since 1840, when Anna, the seventh Duchess of Bedford, decided that afternoons were shamefully foodless.
At Talland Bay, you can tuck into a moreish selection of fresh homemade cakes, sandwiches and scones. Alongside the food, we offer tea and coffee, as well as a crisp glass of bubbly or a G&T. This is your afternoon tea, for you to enjoy how you want.
Please be aware a booking is required for afternoon tea, with a minimum of 24 hours notice so our chefs have time to prepare your delicious treats.
Afternoon tea with the seasons
We regularly serve up special afternoon teas to suit the seasons and special occasions like Father’s Day, Christmas and Valentine’s Day. You’ll find our latest exciting reimagining of the British favourite below. Prefer things a little more traditional? Our standard (yet anything but ordinary!) afternoon tea is always available too.
lADS & DAD’S Afternoon tea
This June, we’re celebrating Father's Day by skipping the finger sandwiches and floral china in favour of sausage rolls with swagger, hunky slabs of cake and a cold pint with dad's name all over it. Spend a day with your main man, cracking food, good local beer and sea views impressive enough to soften even the stoniest of dad jokes.
Available throughout June.
OUr Suppliers & partners
We’re a bit in love with all the brilliant local people who supply our kitchen. They are the unsung heroes behind every delicious bite you take. The fishermen, farmers, cheesemongers, butchers and wine merchants all make the magic possible.
By sourcing most of our food locally, our food is fresh and tasty. Plus we are proud to support our neighbours, who are doing fantastic work.
